This is a bonus to Episode 3: WW2 in Wyoming featuring an interview of Cheryl O'Brien who wrote WW2 POW Camps of Wyoming. Her book has stories from prisoners as well as the local community of farm families where prisoners labored to bring in the harvest during the war years.

    You asked your guest about whether there were POW camps in Australia and Canada.

    Canada did indeed have POW camps for German POWs, there being a grand total of 25.

    Australia also had POW camps, although I know less about them and I don't know if any Germans or Italians were held there (it would seem unlikely). They had at least one camp that housed Japanese POWs during the war.
